About Us

About Us

Palos Islamic Center is a welcoming masjid and community hub serving Muslims and neighbors in Palos Park and the surrounding southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Our mission is to nurture faith, uphold Islamic values, and foster the well‑being of the wider community through worship, charity, education, outreach, and civic engagement.

Our Mission and Vision

Palos Islamic Center was established to serve the spiritual, religious, and social needs of a rapidly growing Muslim population in the Palos area and neighboring suburbs.

We aim to provide a place where Muslims can worship freely and comfortably, raise their families in an Islamic environment, and find support at every stage of life.

Our vision is to be a leading mosque in the United States in offering clear Islamic guidance, compassionate services, and meaningful programs that benefit both Muslims and the broader community.

Worship and Religious Services

At the heart of Palos Islamic Center is the prayer space, where worshippers gather daily to reconnect with Allah and one another. The masjid offers the five daily prayers and Jumu‘ah, giving individuals and families a consistent place for Salah and spiritual reflection. Through regular reminders, khutbahs, and educational talks, we strive to strengthen iman, increase knowledge, and help community members live Islam in a balanced, practical way.

Education and Programs

Palos Islamic Center supports a variety of educational programs designed for all ages, from children and youth to adults and seniors. These programs include Quran and Islamic studies classes, lectures, workshops, and special sessions for new Muslims to build a solid foundation in their faith. Our goal is to provide continuous learning opportunities that connect people to the Quran and Sunnah while addressing the real challenges of modern life.

Community Center and Activities

Beyond the prayer hall, the Center serves as a lively community space that brings families, youth, and neighbors together. With social gatherings, youth groups, women’s circles, senior events, and interfaith open houses, Palos Islamic Center helps build friendships, support networks, and a true sense of belonging. Volunteer‑run initiatives like SERV and Community Connections extend this hospitality to new Muslims and local neighbors, reflecting the Prophetic example of caring for those around us.

Outreach and Neighbors

Palos Islamic Center is committed to building bridges of peace and understanding with people of all backgrounds. Through open houses, community tours, interfaith dialogues, and service projects, we invite our neighbors to visit the mosque, ask questions, and experience the warmth of the Muslim community firsthand. These efforts reflect our belief that Islam calls us to be a source of mercy, good character, and service to society.

Your Home at Palos Islamic Center

Whether you are a long‑time resident, a new arrival, or someone simply curious about Islam, Palos Islamic Center is here for you. We invite you to join us for prayer, attend a program, volunteer, or connect with our imam and community leaders for guidance and support. Together, we strive to make Palos Islamic Center a spiritual home where faith is nurtured, families are supported, and everyone feels welcomed as part of our extended family.
